An emerging citadel of academic excellence, Christian Polytechnic, Oyobia, Urueoffong-Oruko Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, has matriculated a total of one-hundred and twenty -five students in it 2025-2026 academic session.
The event held at the school auditorium, Christian Politechnic, Oyobia Campus on Saturday, 17th April, 2026
Chairman, Board of Directors and founder of the school, Prince Akan Victor P.hD, while setting the tone for the event, explained that the school was founded on the core values of excellence, discipline, and godliness, with a mission to produce top-notch education training for learners to produce skilled professionals with sound values and confidence to thrive independently and handle complex life’s challenges.
Prince Akan charged the matriculants to set high standards and lay a strong foundation of academic excellence and moral rectitude to succeeding students. ” “To our pioneer students, you are not here by accident. Generation yet unborn will look back to remember that you were the first to believe, the first to step forward, and the first to carry the banner of this Politechnic. That is both an honour and a responsibility”.
He mentioned that the school has completed all the necessary documentations and was fully registered with the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education, adding that the school has established partnerships with different universities and professional bodies aimed at promoting credibility,, enhancing academic standards, and boosting quality education.
Unveiling the future plans for the school, Dr. Akan, said modalities have been put in place to construct standard library that will enhance research, set up facilities for CBT-based test, as well as procure equipment that will inculcate entrepreneurial and innovative skills on students for self-reliance upon graduation, even as he also hinted on plans to upgrade the school to a world-class university in the nearest future
In his address, Chairman on the occasion, Chief Engineer Benedict Ukpong, described Dr. Akan as a pace-setter and lauded his courage to translate his dream into reality for the benefit of humanity. Engineer Ukpong noted that the institution was rooted on the tradition of excellence and sound Christian values designed to raise God-fearing people qualitatively trained in both character and learning.
Guest of Honour and Chairman of Urueoffong-Oruko Local Government Area, Chief Ambassador Uno Etim Uno, represented by the Supervisory Councilor for Education, Information and Social re-orientation, Mr. Charles Emene,, urged the students to shun anti-social behaviours, and be committed to their studies, assuring that the pioneer best graduating students of the school will be handsomely rewarded by the local government as a way of encouraging learning and academic excellence.
In their separate remarks, Rector of the school, Dr. Atakpo Peters, and the Registrar, Dr Christopher Tom, described the institution as practical and skill- based institution with requisite facilities and well-qualified Lecturers designed to produce job creators and entrepreneurs, and charged the students to remain focused, disciplined and dedicated to their studies to set an unbroken record of excellence for others who will come after them. They listed the available departments in the school to include Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science/ Computer Engineering, Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, Mass Communication, Public Administration, Public Health, Medical Lab Science and Marketing among others.
Highlight of the event was taking of matriculation Oath and Signing of Matriculation Register by the matriculants.
