Hon. (Deaconess) Lucy J. Itrechio AGIPM, CPC, a prominent supporter of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda and grassroots mobilizer, has applauded the peaceful and transparent conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking after the presidential primary election, Itrechio described the exercise as a major victory for democracy and political freedom, particularly in Ibeno Local Government Area, which she said had experienced years of intimidation and unhealthy political dominance.
She commended Governor Umo Eno for what she described as purposeful and inclusive leadership that has restored hope and confidence among the people.
Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Esther, the APC chieftain said God often raises visionary leaders at critical moments to bring restoration and deliverance to His people. “Just as Queen Esther arose at a defining moment to bring hope to her people, God has raised compassionate and people-oriented leaders for Nigeria, Akwa Ibom, and Ibeno at this crucial time,” she stated.
Itrechio, who was the 2023 aspirant for the Ibeno/Esit Eket State House of Assembly seat, also welcomed the emergence of Dr. Eunice Thomas as the APC House of Representatives candidate for Eket Federal Constituency, describing her as competent, visionary, and compassionate.
According to her, “Dr. Thomas’ candidacy represents a new dawn of inclusion, development, and greater opportunities for the people of the constituency”.
She further reaffirmed her commitment to the ARISE Agenda and the APC, assuring of sustained grassroots mobilization across Ibeno ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former Ibeno chairmanship hopeful expressed optimism for a more united and prosperous Akwa Ibom State, while urging party supporters to remain committed to the collective vision of peace, unity, and development as captured in the ARISE Agenda.
