After six months of rigorous negotiations and meticulous plannings, the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Professor Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, Friday, November, 29, flagged off the construction of Titi Oluwadare and Associates, TOA Students Development Center amid thunderous ovation.
Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor lauded the Global President of TOA, Apostle Dr. Titi Oluwadare for what he described as uncommon feat, describing it as a gesture of goodwill.
He particularly commended the African Representative and Country Director, His Eminence, Amb. Dr. Paul Dowells for his resilience, passion, doggedness and patriotism in ensuring that TOA projects see the light of the day in Akwa Ibom state.
Ndaeyo described the projects as transformational, even as he lavished praises and poured encomiums on Members of the Board of Governors of TOA, Prince Marshal, Elm Wood, Princess Lynda Umoh, (who doubles as Special Assistant to the State Governor, Umo Eno on Diaspora Affairs), for coming all the way from the United States of America to electrify the project.
He assured continued support, encouragement and appreciation from the University community, even as he prayed for smooth and speedy completion.
In a chat with journalists, contractor of the project and Managing Director of JOSFUSEK Global LTD, Engr. Joseph Udonsek, while appreciating TOA for their decision to transform the state, said the project is expected to strike completion stage in 48 months.
He appealed for conducive environment, even as he pledged quality/timely delivery of the project.
Reacting, the African Representative and Country Director, His Eminence, Ambassador Dr. Paul Dowells appreciated the University community and staff of the TOA for the confidence and trust they have in the Global President of TOA.
He particularly praised staff of TOA for remaining resilient and steadfast, promising a bountiful harvest of their sacrifice.
Speaking further, he said the many projects of TOA will offer significant transform through employment, job creation and generation, educational upliftment, and influx of foreign students to Uyo and other cities of the state.
”The Global President of TOA has special interest in development and transformation. She has special interest in youth, and women development. This is just a piece of the iceberg. By the time we commence execution of other projects, Akwa Ibom will know that good people still exist” he said.
The Vice Chancellor of the University was flanked by his Deputy on Academics, Reverend Sister (Prof) Anthonia Essien and other principal staff of the University of Uyo, while the African Representative and Country Director of TOA was surrounded by the Head Due Diligence and Legal Services, Barr. Uduak Johnstone, Project Supervisors and members of the Governing board from United States of America, staff of TOA, contractors and excited students of UNIUYO.
