The Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sunday Festus Akpan, on Monday, September 29, 2025, met with youths from the Inen Clan at the Council Secretariat, Ikot Ibritam, where he urged them to maintain peace and unity ahead of the forthcoming election to choose their next Clan Youth President.

The Chairman assured the youths that the election process would be free, fair, and transparent, reaffirming the councilโs commitment to supporting democratic values and fostering peaceful coexistence among young people in the area.
โI want to assure you that this administration will not interfere in your electoral process. The choice of your next youth president rests with you, and it will be done in a free, fair, and transparent manner. Let peace guide every step you take,โ Elder Akpan stated.
Speaking on behalf of the Inen group of villages, Mr. Iduak Mark pledged the communityโs support for peace and development.
Representing the Inen youth Presidents, Mr. Etido Akarandut emphasized the importance of youth inclusiveness in local governance.
Other speakers at the event included Hon. Idongesit Udoetor, Mr. Anietie Idiong, and the Councillor of Ward 1, Hon. Godwin Mathew, all of whom echoed the call for unity and cooperation among the Inen Youths.
