…As FOAS Worldwide Inaugurates New Executive Council
The Executive Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sunday Festus, has congratulated the newly elected leadership of the Federation of Oruk Anam Students (FOAS), Worldwide, urging them to uphold transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness as they pilot the affairs of the association towards growth and unity.
He gave the charge during the inauguration ceremony of the new executive members, elected in a keenly contested poll held at the Oruk Anam Local Government Council Secretariat, Ikot Ibritam.
According to him, leadership is a call to selfless service and total commitment to the people.
“It is a privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the students of our dear local government across the globe. This phase demands commitment and selflessness. You are now the representatives of all Oruk Anam students. You must show love, work closely with your followers, and ensure every student is carried along in your activities for effective leadership,” Festus stated.
He further encouraged the students to prioritize their academics, which he described as their primary responsibility, advising them to strike a balance between academic pursuit and social activities in order to secure a promising future.

The event, which attracted former student leaders and current students from various institutions, featured the swearing-in of Comr. Patrick Uwem Ufot of Akwa Ibom State University as the new Executive President of FOAS Worldwide. He hails from Ikot Eda village in the Abak Midim Clan of Oruk Anam.
