Minister meets with stakeholders in urea and fertilizer value chain

Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Ph.D, convened a meeting of stakeholders in the urea and fertilizer value chain to address issues relating to the availability and pricing of urea and fertilizer in the country, as it borders on natural gas supply and pricing, which is the major feedstock for urea production.

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, NNPC Towers, Abuja, brought together key industry players, including the Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NMDPRA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed; CEO/MD of Dangote Fertilizer Ltd, Mr. Vishwajit Sinha; Head of Business Development at Indorama, Mr. Anil Rana; Group Deputy Managing Director of Notore Chemical Industries Ltd, Mr. Danjuma A. Etub; and Mr. Ishaku A. Buba, Director of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme โ€“ Agro Pocket (NAGS-AP), who represented the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, among others.

The meeting was mandated by the National Economic Council (NEC) to tackle the challenge and enhance the nationโ€™s food security.
