‎Minister Meets US Energy Delegation

Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Ph.D, Thursday, met with the Deputy Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy, Joshua C. Volz, and  Senior Advisor, Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy, Andrew Rapp, during a bilateral engagement with representatives of the U.S. Department of Energy on the sidelines of Africa Energy Week in Cape Town, South Africa.

‎During the meeting, Ekpo spoke about the clarity in the regulatory and fiscal framework that the PIA, 2021, provides, as well as the recent Presidential Executive Orders.

‎With respect to infrastructure connectivity from gas sources to the market, the Gas Minister outlined the benefits that the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF) provides and spoke about the resources deployed to various investors in the six geopolitical zones of the country.

‎Based on the insights provided, the U.S. team offered to provide support for Nigeria in areas such as funding of infrastructure projects, deployment of technology, as well as guarantees where necessary.
