Akwa Ibom @ 38: Oruk Anam Chairman Felicitates Governor, Citizens

The Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sunday Festus has felicitated with Governor Umo Eno and the people of Akwa Ibom State as the state marks its 38th anniversary on Tuesday, September 23,2025.

In a goodwill message, he described Akwa Ibom’s journey since its creation in 1987 as a story of remarkable transformation and steady progress.

The Council boss noted that successive administrations have laid solid foundations that have made the state one of the most progressive in Nigeria.

According to him, each government has, in its own way, contributed to peace, unity, and development while building an enduring legacy that continues to benefit citizens across the state.

The Chairman particularly commended Governor Umo Eno for his visionary leadership and the bold initiatives being implemented under the ARISE Agenda. He explained that the policy framework is consolidating on past achievements while opening new frontiers of inclusiveness, rural development, and sustainable prosperity.

The council helmsman reaffirmed that the people of Oruk Anam remain steadfast partners in the collective drive to build a greater Akwa Ibom.

He further stressed that local government areas play a crucial role in sustaining the progress recorded at the state level.

“As we celebrate this 38th anniversary, we remain proud of our place in the Akwa Ibom project and committed to working with the governor to achieve more for our people,” Festus stated.

He also prayed for God’s wisdom, grace, and strength upon the governor as he continues to lead the state towards greater heights of development.
