Embrace the A’ Ibom State Employment Portal – Political and Social Re-orientation Boss Charges A’Ibomites

The Honourable Special Adviser, Bureau of Political and Social Re-orientation, Barr. Kufre Udosen has charged Akwa Ibom people to fully embrace the Akwa Ibom State Government Employment portal as it is a veritable means to securing jobs and government patronage in the state.

The Special Adviser noted that with the world having gone digital, the administration of Pastor Umo Eno thought it wise to digitize government operations in order to keep accurate data and statistics of the state government’s job creation efforts.

Barr. Udosen who stated this in his office over the weekend explained that the introduction of the portal is a well intentioned policy of the state government which is, among other things, to keep accurate data and also offer opportunity to those who do not have people in positions of authority to get employment.

He added that the portal is meant to create equal opportunities for unemployed Akwa Ibom people to stand a chance of bidding farewell to job hunting.

In his words: “His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD has made it clear that he came to power by God’s grace hence he is desirous of extending that same grace to the downtrodden, those in the lower rungs of the society’s ladder so that without knowing or having anybody in government, they will have access to jobs and other opportunities.”

He appealed to Akwa Ibom people to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that the portal offers, adding that it is a platform that the governor has graciously created through the office of the Hon. Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, to help Akwa Ibom people gain access to numerous government programs and employment opportunities.

In his words: “Recent activities in my office has afforded me the opportunity to feel the pulse of the people, especially with some having doubts over the sincerity of government to recruit job seekers, contractors through the portal. But I want to say here first that, access to the portal is open to all Akwa Ibom people without particular regards to political party affiliation. Of course, His Excellency the governor has made this clear already. He means well for the people hence his policies and programs are all tailored towards making life better for Akwa Ibom people. I therefore enjoin our people not to have negative feelings about the portal as everything about is transparent and the aim built on honesty.”

Speaking further, he opined that the people should be grateful to the governor and celebrate him for electing to use the portal as means of job creation. He added that it would have taken nothing away from the governor if he had chosen to allow the process of getting jobs to be controlled by certain individuals. “If this was the case, those privileged in a certain way would only push such jobs to their allies or cronies, thereby denying the ordinary person in the society deserving of a job the opportunity to get one. So, let us understand that this is meant for the good of the average citizen who has nobody except ability, capacity and eligibility to get a job. Rather than criticize, register on the portal and see what the Lord can do,” he said.

He called on opinion leaders and government appointees at all levels to enlighten their people, especially the rural dwellers about the importance of being on the portal, adding that those who are not computer literate can be assisted to get on the portal seamlessly without any hassles. “I know some people are worried maybe because they feel that because they are not literate computer-wise or have no gadgets to register on the portal, but the good thing is that, just anybody can get on the portal as long as you follow the guidelines. Even if you’re not computer literate or do not have a smart phone, you can go to a business centre and carry out the process with ease. It is not rocker. It is that simply. A lot of people have gained employment, won contracts through the portal. Do not stay aloof, take advantage of this and help yourself”, he submitted.

Barr. Udosen who is a Maritime and Commercial Law Expert admonished the people to be open-minded and dispose themselves positively in order to benefit from the state government’s different programs all of which he said are designed to cater to their needs.

“Governor Umo Eno is not only compassionate about the welfare of the people, but he is doing all he can to ensure that dividends of democracy are felt even by the oldest woman in the remotest part of the state. There is no need to have doubts about the portal as testimonies abound of people, especially job seekers, who got employed because they registered on the portal, and not because they knew anybody. The portal is open to all and free from any hidden motive. Just provide all the information needed and pray for God’s grace to find you,” he submitted.
