…reaffirms unwavering support for Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda and 2027 re-election bid
The Founder of Heritage Polytechnic, Dr. Emmanuel Ekot, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, with a firm promise to redefine the narrative of what he described as “poor and ineffective representation.”
Dr. Ekot made the declaration on Friday during a media parley held at the conference room of Heritage Polytechnic, Ikot Udota, Eket. He reaffirmed his total loyalty to Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, stating that his ambition aligns fully with the Governor’s vision for sustainable development and the push for a united and progressive Akwa Ibom.
According to him, the Eket Federal Constituency cannot continue to lag behind while other constituencies benefit from proactive representation marked by empowerment, training, and opportunities. He stressed that the 2027 elections present a pivotal moment for impactful legislation, quality leadership, and a stronger voice for the constituency at the National Assembly.
“This journey is not mine alone; it is ours. Together, we will build a constituency where progress is visible, opportunity is abundant, and the future is bright for our children,” he declared.
“For the past 29 years, I have served as a rallying point within this constituency and beyond. The clarion call of elders and stakeholders has inspired me to enter this race with unwavering determination to achieve victory for our collective good.”
Dr. Ekot emphasized that his service would be anchored on accessibility, responsiveness, active listening, and collaboration across sectors. He promised massive empowerment, strategic initiatives, and expanded educational and training opportunities within and outside Nigeria.
“Eket Federal Constituency is one family. If elected by our great party, the APC, I will be a representative for all. My door, my ears, and my heart will remain open for inclusive dialogue and collective problem-solving,” he assured.
Speaking in support of the declaration, Chief Iniobong Idem, expressed confidence in Dr. Ekot’s acceptance aspiration, describing him as “a man of integrity, purpose, and unquestionable character.” He noted that Ekot’s mandate would replicate the successes recorded in Ukanafun/Oruk Anam and Ikono/Ini under Hon. Unyime Idem and Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo.
For ONNA, Hon. Samuel Mbosowo stressed that the constituency cannot afford continued stagnation.
“We cannot continue to encourage failed representation. Dr. Emmanuel Ekot is the right choice at the right time. There is no zoning in politics; what matters is effective representation, and Ekot is ready for the task,” he stated.
Representatives of Esit Eket, including Dr. Udoyiu Udoyiu and Akparwa Michael Enoch, described Dr. Ekot as “a good product, easy to market, trusted, capable, and visionary,” adding that his track record speaks for itself.
Former President-General of Afigh Iwaad Ekid, Obongiwaad Godwin Williams, appealed to journalists, youths, pressure groups, Afigh Iwaad, EPU, the Eket Integrity Alliance, students, women groups, party stakeholders, and even the opposition PDP family to unite in driving the project to a celebrated conclusion through their support and votes.
