Stakeholders in the Abak Local Government Area have unequivocally lauded His Excellency Governor Umo Eno for his sustained commitment to the welfare of the people particularly his distribution of Christmas packages for the Yuletide season. This commendation was made during a comprehensive stakeholders meeting held on Friday, December 20th, 2025, at the Abak Local Government Council Hall.
‎Earlier in the day, and in line with the directive of Governor Umo Eno to celebrate the festive season with the people, the Executive Chairman of Abak Local Government Area, Hon. (Mrs.) Ime Effiong Charles, facilitated the distribution of 40 bags of rice to each of the 91 villages across Abak. The exercise was witnessed by all village heads and their respective youth leaders, ensuring transparency and inclusiveness in the distribution process.
The Executive Chairman of Abak Hon. Mrs. Ime Effiong Charles in her remarks, unequivocally highlighted Governor Umo Eno’s munificent gestures, specifically referencing the distribution of Christmas packages and other live-enlivening projects in the area as proof of his continued dedication to Abak people.
Hon. Ime Charles who was on the ground to personally facilitate the distribution of the largesse conveyed her deep appreciation to His Excellency the Governor and pledged the unanimous support of Abak for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, and all APC candidates in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
Speaking collectively on behalf of the five constituent clans of Abak, viz., Otoro, Ediene, Midim, Afahaobong and Abak, a notable cadre of prominent leaders including former commissioner Hon. Joe Ukpong, SA to Governor on Women Mobilization Dr. Mrs. Ekemini Umoh, Bishop Francis Akpan, Sir Gabriel Etim, and former Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Uwem Udoma, collectively joined in thanking the Governor. They also commended the council chairman for her transparency and diligence in the distribution, as well as acknowledging her myriad of transformative projects within the area.
Highlighting the current political dynamics in the state, Hon. Uwem Udoma in a pointed address charged the people to remain keenly cognizant and steadfast in their support for the All Progressive Congress (APC). He stressed that while Governor Eno has cultivated the spirit of unity across party lines in Akwa Ibom State, the 2027 elections will be a direct contest between “Party versus Party”, especially with Governor Eno poised to seek a second term in office under the APC banner. The stakeholders collectively conveyed an unshakable assurance of their continued loyalty and unalloyed support to the Governor.of Akwa Ibom State.
