The Governance People’s Forum (GPF) held a conference with the theme “The Future of Nigeria’s Democracy and the Involvement of Youths in Nigeria Politics” to discuss the role of young people in shaping the country’s future.
Addressing the gathering, the Convener, Bernard Titus emphasized the need for credible individuals to be supported politically to change the narrative in the country.
The conference highlighted the challenges faced by young people in Nigeria’s political landscape, including financial constraints and lack of access to funding.
Titus also condemned the high cost of governance in Nigeria, citing exorbitant funds spent by lawmakers.
Speaking further, Titus expressed support for Governor Umo Eno, describing him as a private-driven leader who has what it takes to deliver. In Their separate goodwill messages the PRO, Akwa Ibom Human Rights Community, Dr. Victor David, CEO, ESCO Touch Resources, a paint production Company, Pastor John Archibong , the President, Grassroot mobilization Mr. Uduak Monday and the Director of Strategy and cooperate Communication, GPF, Israel Samuel commended Governor Eno for demonstrating exemplary leadership by appointing young people to strategic positions
They called for an enabling environment for young people to participate actively in politics and electoral reforms that would promote youth inclusion and reduce corruption.
