In what has been described as a bold statement of solidarity and firm alignment with a performing leader ahead of the 2027 general elections, the College of Honorary Special Advisers to Governor Umo Eno has reaffirmed total and unyielding support for his administration, describing him as a leader who has redefined governance in just two years in office.
Rising from an emergency meeting held at their Secretariat in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, the high-powered political body, made up of top stakeholders including Former Speakers/Members of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Former National Assembly members, Former Local Government Chairmen, Former Permanent Secretaries and seasoned politicians across the 31 local government areas, said Governor Umo Eno has fulfilled his campaign promises as encapsulated in the ARISE Agenda and deserves the full support of Akwa Ibom people to continue for eight unbroken years like his performing predecessors since 1999.
Briefing newsmen and bloggers after the meeting, the Dean of the College, Rt. Hon. Isantim Kenneth Okon, described Governor Eno as a rare gift to Akwa Ibom State whose humility, prudence, and people-centric approach have brought peace, inclusiveness, and stability to the political structure of the State.
In very strong terms, he warned detractors and political saboteurs both within and outside government to desist from distractions and allow the Governor to concentrate on delivering good governance.
According to the Dean, the College will vehemently resist in strong terms any attempt to derail or frustrate the People-centric leadership currently being entrenched in the state under Pastor Umo Eno.
His words: โAkwa Ibom has never had it this peaceful, this organized, and this people-focused. Governor Umo Eno has changed the tone of leadership and brought decency into governance. We stand solidly behind him and will not fold our hands while anyone attempts to destabilize this administration.”
The Honorary Special Advisers disclosed that members of the College have since relocated to their respective wards and units to mobilize their supporters, who have embraced the All Progressives Congress (APC), the new political alignment in the state, pledging to translate that support into massive victory for the party come 2027.
The body eulogized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his fatherly embrace of Governor Umo Eno, noting that such political love has strengthened unity between the state and the federal government. They assured the President of the Collegeโs readiness, as grassroots generals, to deliver on every front in support of his leadership.
The group also thanked Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, GCON, for sustaining political harmony and for collaborating with Governor Eno to maintain peace and stability across the state. They noted that this synergy has given the Governor the enabling environment to actualize his promises to the people.
Meanwhile, the high-powered meeting was attended by heavyweight politicians who are members of the College. It ended with a unanimous resolution to intensify grassroots mobilization, defend the APC led-administration of Pastor Eno against smear campaigns, and consolidate the Governorโs growing influence as a unifying force in Akwa Ibom politics.
