3-DAY TRAINING ON ICT AND DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP: REP IDEM DONATES 100 LAPTOP COMPUTERS TO 100 CONSTITUENTS

The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, Ph.D, has donated 100 high quality laptops to 100 young constituents, after sponsoring their training on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Digital Entrepreneurship.

Rep. Idem also empowered the trainees with cash grants after the all-expense paid training, which covered hotel accommodation and three-square meals for the entire training period.

Delivering his closing speech and presenting the laptops to the trainees at the end of the ICT training, Rep. Idem, who was represented by a former Commissioner for Education in Akwa Ibom state, Dr. Paul Udoufia, reiterated that the training and empowerment programme was to equip them with the requisite skill set to succeed in today’s technology-driven world.

“You have been empowered with the skills, tools and contacts to function, compete, expand and dominate the ICT space, which is an unending world of opportunities.”

“Within this period of training, you’ve worked tirelessly to acquire new skills and knowledge in the field of ICT. You’ve demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to learn.

“This training has equipped you with the tools and expertise to excel in the digital world. Ensure to make a significant impact in your communities, workplaces, and beyond.

“Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies, share your knowledge. Mentor others and contribute to your community, innovate and create. Use your skills to solve real-world problems.”

Rep. Idem thanked Cassell Consultancy Limited, for empowering the trainees with valuable ICT skills, expressing the hope that the investment of the Consultants will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the trainees and the constituency.

In his closing remarks, the Managing Director of Cassell Consultancy Limited, Mr. Michael Adewole, praised the trainees for their attentiveness and involvement in the course of the exercise, stressing that the skills acquired will open doors to new opportunities, enhance employability, and foster innovation.
