The Students’ Union of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) recently recorded a massive success with its one-day workshop, “The Modern Student’s Toolkit: Skills for Success in an Evolving World.” The event, which was held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Engineering Drawing Studio, saw an overflowing attendance, affirming the students’ keen desire to acquire practical skills for a dynamic global landscape.
Organized by the Office of the Director of Information, the workshop was designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the essential, modern-day skills required for career growth and personal development. The core discussion areas focused on Information Technology, the Business of Media, Positioning for Growth, and Mental Health.
The workshop featured an impressive lineup of speakers and panelists who provided transformative insights to the eager audience.
Mr. Ukpono Ndaudo (Creative Director, Bluresx), Mr. Daniel Emem (Lead Strategist/Events Manager at Web3Nigeria, Zerion, and Trazen), Comr. Etiette Umanah (Convener, Leadership Courtroom), and Miss Edidiong Sampson (Creative Director, Eddyberyl NG) headlined the event. They were lauded for offering not just information, but the explicit “tools needed to thrive” in their respective fields.
A major highlight was the Fireside Chat, which centered on strategic positioning for personal and career growth. The esteemed panelists included Rt. Hon. CP Thompson Emmanuel, Hillary Idungafa, Priscilla Victor, Bright Ben, and Okorie Sampson. The session was expertly moderated by Comr. Godwin Koffi, President of the AKSU Students’ Press Club, sparking candid and impactful conversations.
Comr. Elijah Ubong, the Students’ Union Director of Information and host of the event, expressed immense pride in the outcome.
