Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to his erstwhile deputy, Mr. Moses Ekpo, following the passing of his sister, the late Mrs. Diana Frank Ekpo of Ikot Obiodo, Abak Local Government Area.
The former governor, who was represented by a high-powered delegation of his kinsmen, reaffirmed his bond with Mr. Ekpo, describing him as a dependable brother and an ally who stood faithfully by him throughout their eight years in office between 2015 and 2023.
Speaking during the visit, Prince Godwin Ben, on behalf of the delegation, conveyed his deep sympathies to Ekpo’s family, praying God to grant them strength and comfort in their moment of grief. He also highlighted Mr. Ekpo’s loyalty and commitment during their time in government, noting that such qualities made him an invaluable partner in service.
Mr. Emmanuel’s delegation included the Member representing ONNA State Constituency, Hon. Sunday Udofot Johnny; ONNA Local Government Chairman, Hon. Kufre Umoren; Hon. Responding, an emotionally touched Mr. Ekpo expressed profound gratitude to his former boss, stating that Udom Emmanuel remains a leader of compassion and humility whom he is proud to have served under. He described his years as deputy governor as one of the best privileges of his life, and thanked the delegation for the show of love and solidarity.
The visiting team also presented various items of support to the bereaved family.
