A 28 year old man, Philip Emmanuel Edem from Mbikpong Atai in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has called for help from The State Government, Golden Initiative For All, GIFA and individuals. His wife, Eno Emmanuel Edem delivered a set of triplets recently in a local midwife’s house in Idu Uruan in Uruan Local Government Area without complications, the bundles of joy are all healthy, a beautiful sight to behold.
Edem, a motorcyclist who just survived a deadly disease narrated his story to The Matrix Newspaper in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital.
He said that his father is late and his mother too feeble to be of help, he sold his tricycle to pay his hospital bills and managed to buy a motorcycle to fend for himself and his family thereafter, before the arrival of the triplets.
An SSCE holder with no prospect for education or trade previously had a son with his wife Eno, a 19 year old girl from Ifiayong Usuk in Uruan Local Government Area with no parents .
Edem is calling on The Akwa Ibom State government and GIFA to come to his aid.
He is member of The Everlasting Christ Gospel Mission International and the Patriarch of The Church, Most Rev Dr. Friday Ibanga in his characteristic philanthropic gesture has taken it upon himself to create awareness for the predicament of Edem, as at press time spirit filled individuals have started donating cash and items to the family.
Edem confessed that Most Rev Ibanga is like a father to him and was the one who paid most of his hospital bills when he was sick.
The attention of The Matrix Newspaper was drawn to Mrs. Comfort Okon Bassey, the middle aged local midwife who successfully delivered the mother of the triplets without any complication. Narrating her story, Comfort said she had been a midwife from the age of 13, she has been in service to humanity since then with very minimal appreciation. She is unofficially attached to The government owned Health Center in Idu, where she delivers complicated cases. She calls for recognition from government, a place to render her services, equipment and amenities.
