The youths of Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara Local Government Areas have reaffirmed the endorsement of the Member Representing Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Jerry Anson Otu by the President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio GCON for a second term.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, the Secretary Ward Coordinator’s Forum for Jerry Otu Ikot Ekpene Chapter, Comr. Enobong Umoh and his Obot Akara counterpart, Hon. Uduak Ubeng said Hon. Jerry Otu remains the man of the people; a leader loved by all; a leader greatly adores by all for his obvious and well cherished qualities noting that, the lawmaker has without doubt, taken representation to a whole new level:- this is not mere hearsay or an exaggerated statement, but a statement made out of facts, the youths explained.
The youths commended the President of the Senate, Chief Godswill Akpabio for endorsing Hon. Otu for second term noting that Hon. Jerry Otu still has a lot in his fecund mind to do for the continued betterment of Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara State Constituency and its people.
According to the youths, Hon. Jerry Otu is not tired hence there should be no talk of substituting him for another person, explaining that, top players play full ninety minutes, that Otu is a top player in governance hence has earned the right to be on the pitch as the captain for eight years.
The youths frowned at the recent publication on the front page of the Crest Newspaper by faceless people that – “Ikot Ekpene youths reject Jerry Otu for second term”, describing such publication as a bareface lie that is weak in its roots, stem and branches. No sane mind should believe such utopian but grossly cheap tale emanating from a mind ridden with unmitigated desperation, and called on the general public to disregard such publication.
The youths maintained that Hon. Jerry Otu has made laudable strides since assumption of office as member of the State House of Assembly, such strides that has sustained the pace of growth in Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara, assuring that, the youths will continue to work as strong and committed partners in ensuring that Jerry Otu has returned for a second term in office to consolidate on the good works and templates he has set.
They assured that Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara youths remained united and will sustain the tempo of political unity that will give the All Progressives Congress – APC the edge in the coming elections, while also commending the people of the area for their support so far for the present administration.
