The Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sunday Festus, has flagged off the grading of Usung Idim in Ntak Obio Akpa Village, as part of his administration’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure and enhancing access for residents.
The project is expected to ease transportation challenges, support agricultural activities, and improve movement for farmers, traders, and other road users within the community and neighboring areas.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, the Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development, stressing that road accessibility remains a key driver of economic growth and social progress in rural communities.
He noted that his administration would continue to prioritize projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people, especially in underserved areas across Oruk Anam.
Responding on behalf of the people of Obio Akpa Clan, the Clan Head, Obong Fred Aniefiok, expressed deep appreciation to the Chairman for remembering the community and responding to their long-standing need for improved road infrastructure.
He described the grading of Usung Idim as a timely intervention that would bring much-needed relief to residents, particularly during the rainy season when movement becomes difficult.
Obong Aniefiok commended the Chairman for his proactive leadership, inlusiveness, and dedication to equitable development across Oruk Anam, assuring him of the continued support and cooperation of the people of Obio Akpa Clan.
