Students under the umbrella of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have endorsed the aspiration of Judith Mayen Etuk-Ogbara for the House of Representatives, Eket Federal Constituency, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement, delivered during a courtesy visit at the close of a NANS rally in Eket Local Government Area on Wednesday, was described as a reciprocal gesture for her sustained support and commitment to students’ welfare and youth development nationwide.
NANS President, Comrade Olusola Oladoja, expressed confidence in Etuk-Ogbara’s candidacy, describing her as a visionary and compassionate leader with a track record of impactful student-focused initiatives.
“We are here to appreciate your dedication to the growth and progress of students in Nigeria. You have remained fair and consistent in your support. When your campaign begins, NANS will mobilise its national structure to Eket to ensure your victory because we trust your capacity as a servant-leader”, he said.
The association also declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, citing the need for continuity in governance and development.
Speaking on behalf of students in Eket Federal Constituency, Comrade Idorenyin Ubong said the endorsement followed Etuk-Ogbara’s sustained engagement in youth-oriented programmes, education advocacy and community development.
“She represents the aspirations of Nigerian students and young people. She is accessible, credible and deeply committed to human capital development”, Ubong stated.
In her goodwill message, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on School Feeding, Dr Yetunde Adeniji, called for sustained support for Etuk-Ogbara and expressed optimism about her chances in the election.
Responding, Dr Judith Mayen Etuk-Ogbara described the endorsement as a profound vote of confidence and a reflection of the strong bond she shares with students and young people across the country.
She reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to grassroots engagement and inclusive development, pledging to continue championing policies and initiatives that prioritise education, youth empowerment and sustainable national growth.
