Member Representing Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency, Elder Mfon Idung, has described the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, as a leader who has successfully given governance in Akwa Ibom State a human face through people oriented policies and inclusive leadership.
Elder Idung made this assertion while representing the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno at the official flag-off of the construction of the Chairman’s Residence in Nsit Atai Local Government Area. The event attracted Stakeholders, Community leaders, party faithful and residents of the area, who gathered to witness another milestone in grassroots development under the present administration.
Speaking at the occasion, Elder Idung noted that Governor Umo Eno’s approach to governance is anchored on compassion, equity and responsiveness to the needs of the people. According to him, the Governor has consistently demonstrated that leadership is about service and improving the quality of life of citizens, especially at the grassroots.
He explained that the decision to construct a befitting Chairman’s Residence enriches the Governor’s commitment to strengthening Local Government Administration and ensuring that Council Chairmen operate in an environment that reflects the dignity of their offices. Elder Idung emphasized that such projects are not merely infrastructural, but strategic steps aimed at enhancing efficiency, accountability and effective service delivery at the local level.
“The Pastor Umo Eno-led administration has continued to prove that governance is about people,” Elder Idung stated. “From infrastructure to social welfare, rural development and empowerment initiatives, the Governor has shown uncommon empathy and a clear understanding of the challenges faced by ordinary citizens.”
He further commended the Governor for fostering peace, unity and collaboration across political and ethnic lines in the state, noting that this inclusive style of leadership has created an enabling environment for sustainable development.
Elder Idung urged the people of Nsit Atai Local Government Area to continue to support the administration of Governor Umo Eno, assuring them that more development projects would be delivered across the state in line with the Governor’s vision of shared prosperity.
The flag-off ceremony marked yet another demonstration of the administration’s resolve to deepen grassroots development and bring governance closer to the people, reinforcing Governor Umo Eno’s reputation as a leader who truly governs with a human face.
