…Reaffirms Commitment to ARISE Agenda

Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, officially unveiled the State Government Pavilion at the ongoing Akwa Ibom Christmas Unplugged 3.0, taking place at the Christmas Village, Unity Park, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.
The newly introduced pavilion houses various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government and provides a platform for showcasing government programmes, innovations and service delivery initiatives to the public.
Addressing journalists after a tour and inspection of the pavilions, Governor Eno expressed satisfaction with the level of creativity and alignment demonstrated by the MDAs, noting that their presentations clearly reflects the vision and policy thrust of his administration.
“I have gone round to see what the Ministries, Departments and Agencies are doing, and I am pleased that they are promoting the ARISE Agenda. This is the first time we are introducing a State Government Pavilion at the Christmas Village, and what I have seen so far is encouraging,” the Governor stated.
He emphasized that all MDAs must continue to align their operations, programmes and vision with the ARISE Agenda, describing it as the overarching development blueprint of the State Government. According to him, every ministry is expected to key fully into the State’s vision to ensure coherence in governance and service delivery.
As a measure to check the shortage of medical personnel in public hospitals, Governor Eno directed the Head of the Civil Service and the Commissioner for Health to ensure that medical doctors currently serving as Permanent Secretaries in MDAs are deployed to function as Medical Directors or Medical Superintendents in government-owned general hospitals, while retaining their roles as Permanent Secretaries.
He explained that removing such professionals entirely from hospital management to administrative roles could render their medical expertise underutilised and potentially undermine the State’s healthcare development agenda.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring optimal use of skilled manpower across all sectors of governance.
