The Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Akparawa Prince Anthony Nyong, was recently honoured by the Ibom Entertainers Forum (IEF), Nsit Atai Chapter, in recognition of his outstanding support for the entertainment industry in the area.
The honour, which described the Chairman as a “Pillar of Entertainers,” was conferred during the 2025 Nsit Atai Day Celebration held at the Council Headquarters, Odot, as entertainers and stakeholders gathered to celebrate culture, creativity, and unity in the local government area.
Speaking at the event, Prince Nyong reaffirmed his administrationβs resolve to sustain the cordial relationship between the local government and the entertainment community. He noted that entertainment remains a viable platform for youth empowerment, cultural promotion, and economic growth, stressing that talents must be identified, nurtured, and supported to thrive.
The Chairman charged members of the Ibom Entertainers Forum to remain consistent, innovative, and disciplined in their craft, while assuring them of his administrationβs continued support for initiatives that promote creativity, peace, and positive social values in Nsit Atai.
In his remarks, the Coordinator of IEF in Nsit Atai, Mr. Otobong Uko (Comedian Skippo), said the Forum was delighted to honour the Chairman for his support to entertainers and creative youth in the community. He noted that Prince Nyong has consistently demonstrated genuine interest in nurturing talent and creating opportunities for entertainers to thrive, describing the recognition as a way to appreciate his commitment and the positive impact of his leadership on the sector.
The celebration also featured cultural displays and goodwill messages highlighting the progress of the Forum. As part of the programme, the Forum presented Awards of Excellence to the Group Head of Afaha, Edidem Mfon Sunday, and philanthropist and businessman, Engr. Emmanuel Akpan Jacob (Ceasar Emmanuel), in recognition of their humanitarian contributions to the development of Nsit Atai and support for the less privileged.
The event attracted notable personalities, including entertainers, community leaders, and stakeholders, who commended the Executive Chairman for creating an enabling environment for the entertainment industry to thrive in Nsit Atai.
