The Council Hall of the Nsit Atai Local Government Secretariat, Odot, overflowed with joy, gratitude, and heartfelt worship on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, as the wife of the Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai LGA, Mrs. Emem Anthony Nyong, hosted the grand end-of-year edition of the Women Monthly Prayer Summit with the theme βπππΌππ πππ π ππππ.β
The gathering recorded a massive turnout, as women filled the hall and its extension, gathering to appreciate God for His mercy, protection, and goodness throughout the year. The prayer summit, which holds every last Wednesday of the month, was specially dedicated to thanking God for guiding the women and their families, sustaining the local government administration, and showing mercy upon the state and the entire country.
Giving the exhortation, Rev. Noble Paul spoke on the importance of gratitude, drawing her message from Psalm 100:4β5, Psalm 107:1 and Psalm 67:5β6. She emphasized that thanksgiving opens doors for Godβs continued blessings and urged women to remain steadfast in praising Him.
The Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong, made a brief appearance to join the women in thanking God. He expressed deep appreciation for their steadfastness in praying for the local government, noting that their prayers have continued to yield divine interventions in the council. The Chairman also recognised the contributions of women leaders who have sustained the prayer movement over the years, including his wife, Mrs. Emem Nyong, as well as other women who have shown remarkable commitment. He encouraged them not to relent but to continue praying for Godβs guidance upon the council and further appealed to them to support the APC and the administration of Governor Umo Eno, whom he described as a leader genuinely committed to the well-being of Akwa Ibom people through the ARISE Agenda.
The wife of the member representing Uyo Federal Constituency, Dr. Mrs. Dorcas Esset, also spoke at the event, thanking God for sustaining the women throughout the year. She appreciated their consistency in ensuring that the monthly prayers did not fail at any point and urged them to uphold good character while avoiding behaviours that hinder the progress of others. She used the opportunity to thank the Chairman, Prince Anthony Nyong, and his wife for their unwavering support to the women, and further appreciated all other stakeholders for the unity among them.
Similarly, the wife of the member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Mrs. Affiong Attah, expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness and encouraged the women to imbibe positive attitudes as they prepare for the coming year. She commended the Chairmanβs wife for her dedication and thanked all stakeholders for their support.
In her own remarks, the host of the event, Mrs. Emem Anthony Nyong, expressed deep gratitude to God for His love, faithfulness, and protection throughout the year. She thanked her husband, the Executive Chairman, for his continued support and equally appreciated the women for their dedication to the prayer summit. She extended her gratitude to Governor Umo Eno, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Helen Obareki, and the WALGON Chairman, Mrs. Akaninyene Uwemedimo Udo, for their support to women-focused initiatives. She assured the gathering that the women of Nsit Atai would continue to pray for and support the Governor and all leaders in positions of authority.
The special guest at the event, the WALGON Chairman and wife of the Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Mrs. Akaninyene Uwemedimo Udo, praised the Chairmanβs wife for her remarkable capacity to host such a large gathering. She commended the unity and togetherness among Nsit Atai women and encouraged them to continue praying for the Governor, the Chairman, and other leaders.
Among the women stakeholders present were the Vice Chairman, Mrs Affiong Amanam, Dr. Mrs. Dorcas Esset, Mrs. Affiong Attah, Mrs. Trenchard Ibia, Obongawan Ofonime Udoinyang, Mrs. Eunice Oscar, Mrs. IniAbasi Sunday Udia, Mrs. Cecelia Raphael, and Mrs. Victoria M. C. Akpan, Councillors, Supervisors, alongside several other women leaders whose presence added colour and strength to the event.
In her characteristic manner, the Chairmanβs wife empowered some women financially as part of her continuous support for womenβs wellbeing. The event featured prayers, testimonies, praise, worship, refreshments, and the presentation of souvenirs to participants. The November edition marked the final prayer summit for the year 2025, with the women set to reconvene for the first edition of the new year in January 2026.
